We Ask The Wrong Question

Most people go into marriage asking, "What are you going to do to make me happy?"  I know I did.  The question you should be asking in ANY relationship is, "How can I make your life better?"

Can you imagine how many happy marriages and friendships there would be if you asked that question instead, and then proceeded to make their life better?  Most of us spend our lives asking, "What about me???"  We need to learn to take our eyes off of ourselves and serve others in big and little ways.

Jesus came down to this earth and spent His time here serving others.  The last act He performed before being crucified was to wash His disciples dirty, dusty feet.  This job was usually saved for the lowest, most worthless servant.  Instead, Jesus knelt down and washed their feet as an example of how we are to live our lives...Washing others feet....Serving others.  How beautiful is that??!!!  How amazing is our Creator!

Most of these ideas came from listening to Joyce Meyer last week.  She had her husband come up on stage and she washed his feet telling him how wonderful he was and that he was her man.  She even washed a stranger's feet to show us that we are to serve any one that God puts in our path, which includes our husbands.  This is what really makes you happy.  Ironic, isn't it?

For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
